The penalty is being appealed by Dillon and Richard Childress Racing, and the hearing is scheduled for this Wednesday. Dillon feels confident in his prospects.

“Yes, I am. About it, I feel fairly good,” Dillon remarked on Saturday. “I believe Denny Hamlin hosts a podcast regarding the appeals process. He explains the appeals procedure very clearly, which, in my opinion, is why he was so open about his thoughts early in the week, given the difficulties of the appeals process. However, we will work hard to ensure that we cover all the areas and see the truth of the situation.
