I will love to join LSU but Gainesville is the best place for me- 4 star WR Naeshaun Montgomery

2025 4-star WR Naeshaun Montgomery breaks down multi-day visit to Penn State - On3

To round out Florida’s 2025 wide receiver class with Joshua Moore and Vernell Brown, the Gators are looking for one more receiver. Naeshaun Montgomery, a four-star wide receiver, has been leaning toward Florida ever since his official visit to Gainesville on May 31. The Miami Central High School graduate spent Thursday in Gainesville and came back to Florida for the Florida’s Grill in the Ville picnic on Saturday.

“It was just an enjoyable day.” During the barbecue, Montgomery recalled, “We did a lot of activities, and I really had a fun time with the coaches.”

Seeing true freshman quarterback DJ Lagway in action and being surrounded by the team was the greatest point of Montgomery’s visit.

Montgomery has already disclosed to Gator Country his desire to play at the next level alongside a talented quarterback. This past weekend, he had the opportunity to get to know former five-star DJ Lagway.

Montgomery described him as a “really cool dude” on Lagway. “He has a very focused mindset and wants to finish the job.”

On July 23, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound explosive wide receiver revealed his top six, which include Florida, LSU, Penn State, Alabama, Oregon, and FSU. Two institutions stand out in Montgomery’s recruiting class, though, at the moment.

“There’s actually LSU and Florida,” Montgomery said to Gator Country. “They continued to communicate and do other things like that as soon as I accepted the offer. I think that two schools are places where I can play. I truly envision myself participating at all six, but at the moment, those are the leaders.

Since he revealed his top six, Montgomery asserted that Florida is the school putting the most effort into his recruitment.

Although everyone is working hard, Montgomery felt that Florida had stepped it up a notch.

Montgomery informed the media that he already knew which university he would make a commitment to before his August 25th commitment date. Although nothing is scheduled at this time, Montgomery is not sure if he will accept any more visits.
