Two Auburn Tigers athletes have recently faced legal issues, drawing significant attention.
Former Auburn wide receiver Prechae Rodriguez was arrested for allegedly punching a 9-year-old autistic student at the Eisenhower Exceptional Center in Hillsborough County, Florida. The incident occurred when the non-verbal student reportedly hit Rodriguez, prompting him to respond with violence. This led to his arrest and termination from his teaching position. The local authorities expressed strong condemnation of Rodriguez’s actions, emphasizing the severity of abusing a child under his care (Gridiron Heroics).
Additionally, Auburn freshman defensive lineman Wilky Denaud was arrested on larceny charges. Denaud, a three-star recruit who joined Auburn in the spring, was released from custody following the arrest. However, his future with the team is uncertain as the investigation continues. Denaud’s arrest adds to the growing list of off-field issues for the Auburn Tigers, as they prepare for the upcoming season under head coach Hugh Freeze (On3).
