Three Auburn players receive All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches

jaylin Simpson, Rivaldo Fairweather and Jarquez Hunter were named to the second-team All-SEC by the league’s coaches, according to a release Tuesday.

Simpson, Auburn’s starting safety, was named to the All-SEC first team by the Associated Press. He intercepted four passes in Auburn’s first five games.

Fairweather came to Auburn from FIU, and got better as the year went on to lead Auburn with 349 receiving yards. It’s the second-highest mark among tight ends in the SEC after Georiga’s Brock Bowers. His six touchdowns were tied with Bowers for most in the league among tight ends.

Hunter led Auburn with 896 rushing yards, and played especially well during Auburn’s three-game winning streak in SEC play where he rushed for more than 100 yards each game including a career-high 183 yards against Vanderbilt.

Defensive lineman Marcus Harris, who had seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss from an interior position, was left off the list entirely. He was a first-team selection by the AP.
