After defeating Boston University by run-rule on Friday, the Oregon Ducks softball team will face a more difficult opponent at their NCAA Regional in Norman.
Nevertheless, Friday’s victory underscores the team’s resiliency following a disheartening defeat to Utah in the Pac-12 tournament.
“Coach Melyssa Lombardi stated, ‘I’ve known this team since day one, and that is that the comeback is always genuine.
These individuals are quite adept at taking things that don’t go our way, or adversity, and using it to their advantage.
This upbeat demeanor was apparent on the field. When Boston failed to score, pitcher Elise Sokolsky gave up just two hits and a walk in five innings.
Additionally, Sokolsky struck out three separate batters.Seven different Ducks scored runs or drove in runs on offense, helping Oregon defeat the Terriers and make a statement.
