Rangers want to sign two-time Hungarian league champion Adama Traore from Ferencvaros this summer, according to Africafoot.com.
Writing on their website (16 May), the news outlet report that the 28-year-old Mali international is open to a move away from the club after winning the league in each of his two seasons there.
And Rangers are one of the most interested parties alongside Premier League club Fulham and Austrian giants Sturm Graz, and with just one year remaining on his contract Ferencvaros are planning for his exit.
Rangers need attacking reinforcements
Philippe Clement has made it abundantly clear there will be big changes at Ibrox this summer, with the squad being described at the “end of it’s cycle”.
Fabio Silva’s loan is set to be come to an end with the player not interested in a return and the club already deciding not to bring him back, while Kemar Roofe has also confirmed his exit at the end of his contract.
On top of that Sam Lammers surely won’t return while there are question marks around Scott Wright and Oscar Cortes, with the club interested in bringing Abdallah Sima in permanently from Brighton.
Traore has scored 17 goals this season for Ferencvaros and is capable of playing on both flanks, but at 28 it would seem like a more short-term signing which is a gamble.
But the squad will need new options and depth, and for the right price it could be a good bit of business for the new season.
