After losing six of their past seven league games, Brentford is only four points above the relegation zone following their ferocious 3-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

They can be confident that their team is in far better shape than it was at the beginning of January as they enter the second half of the season.Ben Mee is back from suspension, Ivan Toney has returned from an eight-month sentence for betting offenses, and Kristopher Ajer has healed from a foot injury.

Additionally, they came dangerously close to making a bold move during the transfer window but ultimately opted to purchase cover when it was most needed.

Brentford took immediate action to shore up the one area of their team that desperately needed reinforcement.

Due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) knee injury sustained in September, Rico Henry is expected to miss the remainder of the season, while Aaron Hickey has been sidelined since October with a hamstring rupture.

As a result, Brentford has been without a natural left-back. However, Thomas Frank came up with a brilliant solution by transferring attacking midfielder Saman Ghoddos, who has the right foot, to that position.

While Ghoddos has done a fantastic job in a new role, Sergio Reguilon’s six-month loan from Tottenham Hotspur was a major addition.
