Birmingham City continues to look forward to Tony Mowbray taking over as manager again this summer.
Although complete clarity is still a ways off, Blues’ senior management is operating under the assumption that Mowbray will rejoin and guide the team in League One.
In order to take medical attention for an undisclosed ailment, Mowbray, 60, resigned in February.
The individual who led Blackburn Rovers to League One promotion in 2018 was just named Blues manager in January, following Wayne Rooney’s catastrophic 15-game spell.
In his eight games in charge, he guided the squad to four victories, one tie, and three losses before passing the baton to assistant Mark Venus and, more recently, interim manager Gary Rowett.
Blues have rarely addressed the sensitive nature of the subject in carefully phrased words.
Mowbray has been scheduled to return for preseason play for the last three months, and BirminghamLive has been informed that nothing has changed.
