“These Fans Did Not Come Here To See Curtis Blair, Tre Maddox, Or Andy Nagy,” Pistons Broadcaster George Blaha Regarding Nikola Jokic Ejection
Last night, Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic was ejected in the first half of the Nuggets road game against the Detroit Pistons. With this being the Nuggets’ one game in Detroit all season, it was the only opportunity for Pistons fans to watch one of the best players in the world in person. Unfortunately, that was short-lived due and Pistons play-by-play broadcaster George Blaha blasted the officiating crew for ejecting Jokic.
“Let me tell you this, these fans did not come here to see Curtis Blair, Tre Maddox, or Andy Nagy, whoever they are,” Blaha said during the game.
Through 15 games, the Pistons have a league-worst 2-13 record. With that in mind, there are Pistons fans who are attending games in hopes of seeing some of their favorite players from other teams in a seemingly lost season. Jokic, a two-time NBA MVP and reigning NBA Champion, is the type of player fans hope to see when the Nuggets are in town.
Alas, it was all for not when Jokic received his second technical foul in the first half after arguing with the officiating crew about what he felt was a missed foul call. Now, Pistons fans will have to travel elsewhere to see Jokic play or wait until the next time the Nuggets come play at Little Caesars Arena.
To make matters worse, the Pistons were still unable to pull out the victory despite the Nuggets being without their best two players for the second half following Jokic’s ejection (Jamal Murray was out with a hamstring injury).
