Breaking News: Jazz’s welcome yet another key player to the team
The NBA journey is a marathon, one Isaiah Thomas knows all too well.
Reports emerged Tuesday that former Sacramento Kings point guard will be joining the Utah Jazz’s G-League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, in an effort to return to the NBA. The news did not confirm when Thomas will make his 2024 debut, only that he is looking to make a push for an NBA roster nearing the postseason.
Isaiah Thomas, 35, is an 11-year NBA veteran, making the All-Star team twice in his career. “IT” was drafted by the Kings with the last pick in the 2011 NBA draft. He would become a fan favorite with the Sacramento crowd, spending three years in Sacramento.
Thomas would go on to play for the Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, before bouncing around the league thereafter.
His best season came in Boston, averaging 28.9 points per game as the leader of the Celtics roster that year. He earned an All-NBA nod for his efforts. Thomas is a career 17.7 ppg, with 4.8 assists to go along with that.
The Washington native last played in the 2021-22 NBA season, featuring in 22 contests. He last played in the G-League the following season.
