LSU running back Trey Holly claims he is ‘100% innocent’ after arrest in shooting case
LSU running back Trey Holly denied he was involved in a shooting after being arrested on three felony charges, including attempted second-degree murder.
“I have been falsely identified, accused, and arrested,” Holly wrote in a social media post Saturday night. “I am 100% innocent and the people that know me know this is not my character at all. I was not involved in the incident at all.”
Holly and two others were arrested Thursday in connection with a shooting Feb. 9 at the Union Villa Apartments in Farmerville. One woman and one man were injured by gunshot wounds, officials said. They are expected to live.
Holly, 19, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of illegal use of a weapon (on a public roadway) and one count of aggravated criminal damage to property.
He turned himself in around noon Thursday and was booked at the Union Parish Detention Center, where he was held on $512,000 bond. One of Holly’s attorneys, Kelvin Rodgers, later told The Advocate that Holly “emphatically denies all charges“
“I was at home, which is where the incident took place,” Holly wrote in his first public comments since the arrest. “I turned myself in because I was notified of an arrest warrant and I wanted to fully cooperate. Due to this being an ongoing investigation I cannot give many details.”
The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, which is conducting the investigation, determined three people fired multiple rounds. UPSO said the shooting stemmed from earlier altercations at a nearby apartment complex.
