Millard North safety Caden VerMaas enjoys Nebraska Junior Day
Nebraska commit Caden VerMaas enjoyed another chance to spend time around the staff during the Huskers most recent junior day and it allowed him to meet more and more recruits as he looks to grow into more vocal leader.
More than anything the event reminded the 2025 Millard North safety that it’s the beginning of the 2025 cycle and he’s gone from the new guy who’d never been to a recruiting event to a grizzled veteran over the last couple years.

HONOLULU — (January 20, 2024) – The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced today that Buford (GA) QB, Dylan Raiola and Corner Canyon (UT) QB, Isaac Wilson have been selected as the 2023 co-recipients of the Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year Award.
The Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the most outstanding senior high school football player(s) of Polynesian Ancestry. Current San Francisco 49ers Safety Talanoa Hufanga was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Award in 2017; BYU and current Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua & University of Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa were selected as co-players of the year in 2018; QB DJ Uiagalelei was selected in 2019; Ohio State University DE J.T. Tuimoloau received the award in 2020, University of Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan was selected in 2021, and University of Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava received the award in 2022.
A five-star, University of Nebraska signee, Raiola is Native Hawaiian. He led the Buford Wolves to an 11-2 record, throwing for 2,666 yards, and 34 touchdowns. He was selected to the 2024 Polynesian Bowl.
A four-star, University of Utah signee, Wilson is Native Hawaiian. He led Corner Canyon to a 13-1 record, throwing for 4,595 yards, and 49 touchdowns. He was selected to the 2024 Polynesian Bowl.
“On behalf of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Board of Directors, we congratulate Dylan Raiola and Isaac Wilson on their amazing seasons,” said Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Chairman Jesse Sapolu. “They have a bright future ahead of them and we are excited to follow their journey.”
Raiola is 247Sports’ No. 2 overall prospect, No. 1 quarterback and No. 1 player in Georgia for the 2024 class.
He flipped his commitment Dec. 18 from Georgia to Nebraska and signed two days later with the Huskers.
Wilson is 247Sports’ No. 21 quarterback and No. 3 player in Utah for the 2024 class.
He announced his commitment to the Utes May 24 and signed with them in December.
