FSU officially announces the signing of LSU WR transfer Jalen Brown
Florida State officially announced the addition of LSU wide receiver transfer Jalen Brown on Monday morning. Brown, who is already at FSU, enrolled, and with the team, committed over the weekend. The redshirt freshman from Miami, Fla. was a top target for the Seminoles out of Gulliver Prep.
“Tremendous speed is coming to the Seminole offense with the addition of Jalen Brown. Jalen is a great talent who will be a great vertical threat, and I’m excited about the playmaking ability he brings to the team. He has quick feet and change of direction, and will develop into a complete receiver. He is a wonderful young man of extremely high character,” head coach Mike Norvell said via release.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver redshirted as true freshman at LSU in 2023. He appeared in three games with Tigers.
He is ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 45 overall transfer and No. 10 wide receiver currently in the NCAA Transfer Portal.
He made 111 receptions for 2,396 yards and 25 touchdowns at Gulliver Prep. He added 797 kickoff return yards and six rushing yards for 3,272 all-purpose yards.
He had 22 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns while playing six games his senior season.
He was named MaxPreps Junior All-American after making 56 catches for 1,033 yards and 11 touchdowns and added one kickoff return touchdown. He helped Raiders to 11 wins while advancing to regional final round of 4A state playoffs.
He also ran track for Raiders. He won regional championship in 100-meter dash during sophomore season…also qualified for state championship meet in 200-meter dash.
He was rated as nation’s No. 68 overall prospect, No. 12 wide receiver and Florida’s No. 17 overall prospect in 247Sports Composite out of high school.
