A wreck on Wednesday night resulted in multiple fatalities on the interstate in Christian County.
The Christian County Coroner confirmed that two people were killed as a result of the accident, which occurred around 8 p.m. on I-24 westbound near exit 81. While emergency crews investigated the scene, both lanes of traffic were blocked for an extended period of time.
Two passenger vehicles were involved in the wreck, with initial reports from the Hopkinsville Fire Department indicating that one of the vehicles caught on fire.
The identity of the male and female victims has not been released to the public, and the cause of the crash is currently unknown.
