Aaron Jones , Minnesota Vikings running back, recently opened up about leaving the Green Bay Packers to join his new team in the last season. In the 2024 NFL season, Jones played for the Minnesota Vikings after being traded out of the Packers. While Jones seems to be pretty set with his new squad, it looks like he still has many lingering feelings for Green Bay according to his recent appearance on ‘Good Morning Football’.

Jones stepped foot into the NFL after being selected by the Green Bay Packers as the 182nd pick in the fifth round of the 2017 draft. The 30-year-old running back played for the Green Bay Packers from 2017 to 2023 and then was moved to the Minnesota Vikings.

“I had to move around every 2-3 years, so I feel like that helped me; but you do get comfortable being in a place for 6-7 years. It becomes your second home essentially, so when you have to pick and move, you don’t really know how to feel about it. But when you reach that new place and they welcome you with open arms, then you’re like ‘I’m where I’m supposed to be.’” Aaron Jones said on ‘Good Morning Football’ this Thursday.

Aaron Jones will be playing his second season for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2025 NFL season. The Vikings finished second in the NFC North in the previous season after winning 14 games and losing three. Minnesota managed to make it to the Wild Card Round and lost to the Los Angeles Rams with a truly shabby 27-9 final score.

Aaron Jones Was Released From The Packers After Refusing Low Pay

The reason why Aaron Jones was actually let go by the Green Bay Packer is simply because the running back refused to play for lesser money. Jones discussed the same in his appearance on ‘The Herd’ on Fox Sports a couple of days back.

“Definitely did not see it coming. I finished the year off strong [after being] hurt earlier in the year… Once I was back out there, I feel like I helped lead us to the playoffs… Sometimes, you [have] got to bet on yourself.” Aaron Jones said on ‘The Herd’. ‘

In the 2024 NFL season, Aaron Jones managed 255 carries for the Minnesota Vikings for 1,138 yards, scoring five touchdowns. While the running back sure hopes to do better in the upcoming season, reports are that the Minnesota Vikings might consider cutting down his playing time this year.
