Florida head coach Billy Napier revealed Thursday that Lagway suffered a shoulder injury and was unable to throw during spring practices. He believed it would hurt Lagway in the long run because of the importance of getting reps before the season. Lagway helped lead Florida to an 8-5 record in 2024, Napier’s first winning season.

Did we see it in spades? I’m ready to go ahead and tell you he’s a top-five arm talent guy in college football. That son of a gun can absolutely spin the football. …It’s not a good thing if I’m a Florida fan. Like, I need my dude throwing as much as possible, and yes, I still need him healthy for the season, but he’s still a young guy that has a lot to learn.”
