HISTORY MADE: FRESHMAN KICKER NOLAN HAUSER SHATTERS ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME RECORD

In a thrilling conclusion to the ACC Championship Game, freshman kicker Nolan Hauser etched his name into the record books with a stunning performance. The Clemson Tigers’ rookie sensation made an ACC Championship game record of all five field goal attempts, including a game-winning 56-yarder, to secure a 34-31 victory over the SMU Mustangs.

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik threw for four touchdowns, including one in the third quarter to tight end Jake Briningstool that gave Clemson a cushion down the stretch. SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings threw a four-yard touchdown completion to wide receiver Roderick Daniels Jr. with just over four minutes remaining, but Hauser’s clutch kick sealed the win for the Tigers.

Hauser’s record-breaking performance will be remembered for years to come, and it marked a fitting end to an instant classic of a championship game. Clemson will be the first three-loss team to make the College Football Playoff, and they have Hauser’s incredible kicking display to thank for it ¹.
