West Brom's Pre-season 'friendly' Against Mallorca Descends Into Chaos As Fight Breaks Out Involving Baggies Midfielder Jayson Molumby Who Punches Opponent In The Face - Ny Breaking News

A brawl breaks out during West Brom’s preseason “friendly” versus Mallorca, with Baggies midfielder Jayson Molumby punching the opponent in the face.

A preseason friendly between Mallorca and West Bromwich Albion featured an apparent punch to the face of an opponent by Jayson Molumby of the latter team.

A brawl between Molumby and Mallorca’s Samu Costa at the end of the first half sent the private game into disarray.

Social media users have started sharing footage of Molumby dribbling the ball and then being challenged twice, with Costa’s second challenge being a foul.

As the two move closer, Molumby presses his forehead into Costa’s face, sparking an angry exchange of words that eventually devolves into violence.

Molumby, 24, proceeds to make a closed fist and attack Costa in the face, shockingly countering Costa’s retaliatory hand on his neck.

After that, the two struggled to the ground as other teammates from both teams ran to break up the altercation.

Since it was a friendly match, neither player received a red card from the referee; however, Molumby was replaced at halftime. The event took place in the match’s 39th minute.

The amount of aggression on exhibit in the sequences was alarming, and it’s unclear if the club would take any disciplinary action. They seemed to come out of nowhere.

Molumby joined Brighton’s academy to start his career and went on to play five senior games for the Seagulls.

He was on loan at Millwall for the 2019–20 season and Preston for the second half of the 2020–21 campaign.

Molumby has now made 103 appearances for the Baggies in all competitions, tallying five goals and five assists.

David Lopez’s goal in the second half of the friendly match against Albion caused West Brom to lose 1-0.

They are now preparing for the next Championship season by having already lost twice in the preseason—to Bolton and Blackpool—and winning just one, against Peterborough.
