After a record-breaking evening, Caitlin Clark is eager for some time off.

Texas’s Arlington (AP) Despite her desire to compete in the Olympics, Caitlin Clark relishes the idea of taking a break during the WNBA’s month-long break for the Paris Games.

Never mind that, in the Fever’s last game before the break, Indiana’s rookie star didn’t exactly appear to need any as she set a WNBA record with 19 assists.

Before reaching her milestone on Wednesday night in a 101-93 defeat to the Dallas Wings, Clark remarked, “I feel like I’ve been nonstop go since, like, probably September of last year.”

And for that reason—she has.

Clark was selected first overall in the WNBA draft, two weeks after Iowa made it to the national championship game for the second time in a row.

Approximately three more weeks

Clark’s extended vacation isn’t quite over since on Saturday night in Phoenix, she will play for the WNBA All-Stars versus the American women’s Olympic squad.

In due course, Clark will take a week-long vacation before the Fever return to a regular schedule in an effort to maintain his competitiveness. For the Olympics, the majority of the roster will be at home. Indiana’s first game back will be against Phoenix on August 16 at home.

Clark stated, “I think it’ll be really good for myself and my body.” “You’re almost done playing basketball constantly for an entire year. I will therefore probably find it strange to not play games. However, I believe it will be beneficial to my body.

Despite shooting just 2 of 9 from deep in the Wings’ defeat, Clark finished with 24 points.

At 17.1 points per game and 8.2 assists per game, Clark leads all rookies. With nine games played, Clark has averaged 11.9 assists.

“She will take a break and get some sleep. Christie Sides, the coach of the Fever, remarked, “I think it’s just great.” She has simply been working so hard for a while now. In my opinion, it’s

Following Iowa’s Nov. 6 debut, Clark participated in 65 games that were counted and two that weren’t, as Indiana had a short exhibition season.

Hard fouls on the young, white star garnered more attention than normal, and Clark was forced to participate in conversations about race along the road.

A day after the play, Chennedy Carter of Chicago was assessed a flagrant foul after her coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, informed Carter that the play wasn’t suitable.

The controversy off the court happened at the same time as the Fever struggled to get off to a rocky schedule. They went 10-7 the remainder of the way before the break to overcome a 1-8 start and are now in the running for the playoffs.

There will be more if Indiana makes it to the postseason in September.

“I believe that things have calmed down and flowed a little better once we really kind of got into a flow, got a few wins under our belt, and had a little more practice time.” I can see that my confidence is growing and that my feet are definitely getting beneath me more.
