Auburn football makes the cut for multiple tight end targets

Multiple tight end recruits have listed the Auburn football program in their groups of finalists

Recruiting always heats up with the summertime, and this year is no different. After a busy month of hosting official visitors on campus, the Auburn football program’s next biggest recruiting event will take place at the end of July — Big Cat Weekend.

In the meantime, recruits from all over the country are narrowing down their finalists and preparing to make their official commitment decisions. Many will have decisions made ahead of their senior season of high school ball.

This week, two of Auburn football’s tight end targets included the Tigers in their final groups. Former commit Hollis Davidson’s recruitment will come down between Auburn and Florida State, while 4-star tight end Kaleb Edwards listed the Tigers and five other programs.

Davidson, a 3-star tight end out of Peachtree City, Georgia, committed to Auburn back in February, but then walked back his pledge in May. He has spent a lot of time with Florida State and their coaching staff and has a strong relationship with FSU head coach Mike Norvell. Davidson has not set an official decision date.

The Tigers also made the cut for Kaleb Edwards, the #8 tight end in the country. From El Dorado Hills, California, Edwards’ final six schools include Oregon, Texas, Washington, UCLA, Alabama, and Auburn football. He has officially visited each program and will announce his final decision on July 2.

Edwards has multiple predictions to end up at Alabama, and his lead recruiter for the Tide previously recruited him at Washington. Following his visit to the Plains this month, Auburn Undercover indicated the Tigers did well and there was optimism surrounding the tight end’s recruitment.

Though neither recruit is a sure Auburn commit, the Tigers are keeping themselves in the game for Hollis Davidson and Kaleb Edwards.
