The Light Blues CEO James Bisgrove left Glasgow last week to take on a new footballing role in Saudi Arabia, with Bennett taking over his responsibilities at Ibrox with a new committee over the transfer window.
While some worried the upheaval may distract the Gers’ summer plans, Ibrox icon Ferguson has insisted that Bennett will press on to complete several incoming transfers before the start of pre-season.
Writing for the Daily Record on Friday (7 June) he said: “Behind the scenes at Rangers, these next three or four weeks could be the busiest and most important time of the year.
“Because if my old club doesn’t get its business done in the transfer market as quickly as possible then they could find themselves up against it before a ball has even been kicked next season.
“The good news is that, as far as I can see, the people in charge at Ibrox know exactly what’s required. There’s no danger of chairman John Bennett putting his feet up and watching what’s going on in Germany when there’s so much for him to attend to.
“Now that Bennett is at the helm I expect he will press ahead with a number of the deals that were already well in the pipeline.
