Norwich City has dismissed manager David Wagner less than 24 hours after their devastating Championship play-off defeat by Leeds United.
The club decided to act swiftly following Thursday’s 4-0 semi-final second-leg loss, which condemned them to a third consecutive season in the second tier.
The Canaries are reportedly considering Arsenal coach Carlos Cuesta as a potential replacement.
Cuesta has previously worked with Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper during Knapper’s tenure as loans manager at Arsenal.
Wagner’s tenure was precarious after Knapper replaced former sporting director Stuart Webber in November. Despite this, David Wagner managed to lead Norwich to a sixth-place finish in the Championship.
An official statement from Norwich City regarding Wagner’s dismissal is expected later on today.
