MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin’s 15 spring practices provided a window into which players performed well and how coaches view their potential roles for next season. And while no depth chart in May is set in stone, a clearer understanding of the pecking order in the two-deep emerged.
Offensive coordinator Phil Longo has expressed optimism about the strides the offense can make in Year 2 of a new system, in large part because of the number of returning players who have a better understanding of expectations. Many of those players will form the backbone of an offense that seeks improvement after averaging just 23.5 points per game.
