Paul Warne saluted a “few outstanding performances” as Derby County strengthened their grip on second place in the race for automatic promotion with victory over Blackpool.
A wonderful strike from Ebou Adams in the first half secured all three points for Paul Warne’s side at a tense Pride Park where he struck a tremendous half-volley from the edge of the box.
The victory was huge for Derby as their promotion rivals Bolton, Barnsley and Peterborough all dropped points leaving the Rams six points clear of third with five games remaining.
The win sets Derby up nicely for their trip to leaders Portsmouth next Tuesday when victory could blow the race for the championship wide open.
