CBS Sports updated its ranking of the 68 power-conference college football coaches earlier this month.

No longer does it include coaches from the Power Five. It’s now the Power Four (the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12 and ACC) after the elimination of the Pac-12 during conference realignment.

That conference realignment sees the Big Ten expand to 18 schools with the start of the 2024 season. The additions of USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington mean the conference adds some of the sport’s premier brands, and also some of its best young coaches.

The new conference landscape is an unknown entering the year. Divisions are eliminated, and the old grading system used to evaluate teams and coaches must be rethought. For example: an 8-4 record in the new Big Ten may equal a 10-2 season before realignment. Every team’s schedule got tougher as the conference’s list of contenders grew.

The new landscape will make for a fascinating re-visit of every ranking list next offseason. It will be interesting to see where Luke Fickell, Matt Rhule, Jedd Fisch, Sherrone Moore and other highly-touted coaches in new locations rank. Fickell and Rhule will need great seasons or they could begin to fall along with the programs they manage.

With the 2024 season fast-approaching, here’s a look at how CBS Sports currently ranks the Big Ten’s 18 head coaches:
