The Dane announced on Wednesday that he would be teaming up again with Patrick Mouratoglou, taking over for the recently-departed Severin Luthi and Boris Becker.

Since he was a 13-year-old Champseeder, Rune has been a regular student at the Frenchman’s college.

Previously, the two collaborated from October 2022 to April 2023, during which time Rune won his first Masters 1000 title at Paris-Bercy (beating five players in a row in the process).

After the Sunshine Double, their full-time collaboration came to an end with Rune saying, I will take all your advice with me onwards. I’ll see you in the academy soon.

However, Mouratoglou quickly had second thoughts and was back in Rune’s box with co-head coach Lars Christensen for the clay-court season.

That agreement lasted until after the US Open, when Rune and Mouratoglou appeared to call it quits after going winless for a while on hard courts in North America.

Becker joined Rune in October 2023 to assist him with earning a spot in his first Nitto ATP Finals. After an extension of the trial period, Luthi joined two months later for the 2024 season.
