The thrilling Yoane Wissa goal in stoppage time gave Brentford their first-ever Premier League victory over Bournemouth. The match ended 2-1 at the Vitality ,Stadium full of controversy.
Just seconds after Bryan Mbuemo’s 50th goal of the season had placed the visitors ahead, Dominic Solanke’s 19th goal of the campaign appeared to have earned Bournemouth a well-earned point.
However, Wissa—who had assisted Mbuemo in scoring—had the final say in the fifth minute of injury time, adding to the Cherries’ aggravation following the dubious chalking off of two goals by Andoni Iraola’s team in the first half.
Brentford got off to a fast start, and Mark Travers of Bournemouth was the first to be called upon, diving low to block a goal-bound effort from Keane Lewis-Potter.
As the home team started to gain control of the game, Antoine Semenyo’s long-range attempt was then punched away by Bretford’s top player, Mark Flekken, who was also equal to a Dango Outtara effort.
