Fisch has prior connections to the Emerald City, unlike DeBoer. In 2010, as a quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Seahawks, Fisch became a member of Pete Carroll’s inaugural coaching team.
But Fisch’s relationship with Carroll goes beyond that. Pete Carroll’s son Brennan Carroll was Fisch’s offensive coordinator at UA in 2023.
During his three seasons with the Wildcats, Fisch never defeated UW, although he has been quite close the last two years. This includes Michael Penix Jr. being held without a touchdown pass in a 31-24 loss in Tucson.

Loyalty is an important moral value to many, but it isn’t common in college football at the highest levels. Coaches jump from job to job trying to ascend the ladder in the industry, often spending three years or fewer at each.
