Holger Rune, the seventh-ranked player in the world, declared on Wednesday that he will keep Patrick Mouratoglou as his head coach, going forward.

Rune released a statement saying, I am excited to resume working with Patrick. I can’t wait to pursue the next big titles with him because we have already shared some of my biggest professional victories.

We’ve had some productive conversations about the future of our partnership, and we’ve decided on a solid configuration that will maximize my performance.

With a very brief break between Miami and Monte-Carlo last year, Mouratoglou coached Rune from October 2022 to August 2023. During that time, he helped lead Rune to a career-high position of No. 4 in the world last summer.

Over time, Mouratoglou and Rune have built a strong rapport. The two had been friends since Rune was 13 years old, at which point the Dane turned into a Champseeder, a player supported by Mouratoglou’s organization.
