First-round NFL Draft pick from this year’s class Jahmyr Gibbs has thrown shade at his former college coach, the legendary Nick Saban.
The long-time Alabama head coach, Saban has established himself as the greatest coach in the college game – winning seven National Championships, six with Alabama since he joined in 2007.
Like Bill Belichick though, he’s not known to be an easy-going leader, is extremely demanding on his players with tough off-season and in-season training to remain in top shape.
Speaking after mandatory minicamp, Gibbs said: NFL practice is different from college. How, like, they approach the day.
What they do in their spare time and their free time.
Saban, he’s probably hitting every day, full pads in the heat for two hours. Here, we get good work in, but they don’t try to kill us.
Alabama has the third-most players from their school being drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft with 77 – behind only Ohio State and USC.
But no school has dominated quite like ‘Bama, with six National Championships in the past 14 seasons and elite players coming and going seemingly every season.
