Chelsea are set to be given a huge boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.

The Blues are in the midst of a left-back crisis at Stamford Bridge with Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella both ruled out with long-term injuries, and have been linked with a summer move for the Canadian international.

The defender is valued at around £43million by his club, with Real Madrid also linked with a move.

And according to Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk, the German giants are not prepared to pay over the odds when they offer him a new deal, with manager Thomas Tuchel underwhelmed by his current displays.

That notion will further open the door for Mauricio Pochettino and co. Despite being hampered by Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions, the proposed fee should not present a problem to the London club, who have also become renowned for offering elaborate contracts over Todd Boehly’s ownership.
