Miami is set to host one of the nation’s top defensive backs for their first spring practice.
New Iberia (La.) Westgate Top247 cornerback Jaboree Antoine, a LSU commit, will spend the day around the Hurricanes on Monday. The Hurricanes have long been high on the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder and will get an opportunity to get him on campus as the program kicks off the early portion of the 2024 season.
Spring football is upon us and that gives us an opportunity to see what numbers the players will be wearing for the 2024 season.
With 26 newcomers between high school recruits and transfers partaking in their first football session of their time at Miami, and some current players switching numbers, here’s a look at who is wearing what number:
The NFL Combine is in the books ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. A number of athletes made the most of their appearances in Indianapolis. Then, there is the other end of the spectrum too, with players who landed disappointment labels.
Michigan was college football’s most-represented team during with a record-setting 18 players. Georgia holds the record for most selections in a single draft cycle after posting 15 picks in 2022.
The 2024 NFL Draft is set for April 25-27 in Detroit, but before then, many of these players will participate in respective Pro Days to try and further given personnel types, scouts and NFL coaches a better look at their athletic resume and in turn, potentially strengthen numbers posted at the combine. A few won’t have to show anything else on tape after blowing up at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Everyone knew Payton Wilson was a gem on the field based on his production at NC State as one of country’s top defenders and the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year. Draft insiders wanted to see him fully-healthy and, man, did he impress. Despite battling through two separate knee injuries and a nagging shoulder situation with the Wolfpack, Wilson flexed his talent at 100% at Lucas Oil Stadium with the fasted 40 time of any linebacker (4.43). He won’t have to run at NC State’s Pro Day, but his medicals ahead of April’s first round may determine if he’s a first-round selection or not.
