SAD NEWS: New England Patriots confirms departure of a key star

Former Patriots WR signs one-year extension with Ravens

Nelson Agholor did enough for the Ravens to earn a contract extension before NFL free agency begins.

The Baltimore Ravens announced Sunday night they signed the wide receiver for another year. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. ESPN’s Jamison Hensley reported Agholor had until 4 p.m. EST on Monday to sign to reach a deal with Baltimore, otherwise his contract would have been voided and he’d count for $1.668 million in dead money in 2024.

Agholor had 35 receptions for 381 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games for the Ravens last season.

Prior to signing with Baltimore in 2023, Agholor spent two seasons with the New England Patriots. He played 31 games between 2021 and 2022 with 68 receptions. In 135 total games with the Ravens, Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders, Agholor has 375 receptions and 35 touchdowns.

While the 30-year-old’s numbers weren’t ones that jumped off the page, Agholor was reliable and only dropped two passes this season.

With Agholor signed, quarterback Lamar Jackson will have three of his top four receivers when the 2024 season begins. Odell Beckham Jr. is set to hit free agency when it begins next month.

The Ravens enter free agency after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game and look to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2013.
