LSU star charged with attempted murder after weekend shooting

LSU running back Trey Holly has been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting in his hometown of Farmerville, La., according to multiple reports.

Holly faces three felony charges: attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of a weapon. The incident, which took place last Friday night at an apartment complex in Farmerville, sent a man and a woman to the hospital with gunshot wounds, the woman listed in critical condition.

According to a report by ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Holly has been indefinitely suspended from all team activities at LSU.

Holly played in three games as a freshman for the Tigers in 2023, rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. A 3-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, he rushed for a Louisiana all-divisions record 10,523 yards during his career at Union Parish High School in Farmerville, a town of 3,300 located in extreme north Louisiana about 30 miles northwest of Monroe.
