Class of 2027 QB Mason Holtzclaw enjoys visit to Louisville campus

The University of Louisville football staff hosted a handful of prospects on campus last weekend, including a promising young quarterback.

Arden, N.C., Christ School signal caller Mason Holtzclaw, a prospect in the Class of 2027, made a visit to U of L. He spent time with the U of L coaching staff, chatting with offensive coordinator Brian Brohm, checking out the facilities and the area.

The 6-foot-4, 197-pound Holtzclaw, who already holds five scholarship offers, said the first impression of U of L was a good one.

“It went great,” Holtzclaw said to Cardinal Authority. “I loved being up there and getting to see the facilities, they are great. They really liked my size, I weighed in at 197 and my height was at 6’4, and have 10-inch hands. I got to sit down with Coach Brain Brohm in the film room to go over some of there plays and went up to draw up what plays my school runs verses different coverags. We talked about what kinds of offense they run and talked about how my season went.

“Also they liked the way I play, and they are going to come down to watch spring practice.”

Holtzclaw is not ranked in the ’27 class, but has a ton of potential. He already holds offers from Kentucky, Toledo, East Carolina, Appalachian State, and New Mexico State.
