USC QB reacts to Washington Commanders hiring Kliff Kingsbury as OC ahead 2024 NFL Draft
Will Caleb Williams and Kliff Kingsbury reunite in the NFL?
Are the Washington Commanders making moves to land Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams in the 2024 NFL Draft? The USC star seemed to approve of the Commanders hiring Kliff Kingsbury as their next offensive coordinator, taking to social media to congratulate the former Trojans assistant coach on the new position.
Washington officially announced the hiring of Kingsbury on Monday morning after reports surfaced this past weekend about a change of course in his return to the NFL. Kingsbury was previously expected to be hired as the offensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders, but withdrew his name from consideration on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
With Kingsbury now on the Commanders coaching staff, it raises speculation of a potential blockbuster trade at the top of the 2024 NFL Draft where Washington could move up to select Williams, reuniting the former USC duo.
The Commanders own the No. 2 overall pick and could swap with the Chicago Bears, who currently possess the No. 1 overall pick.
