Cleveland Cavaliers star Current Injury Status For Cavs-Kings
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been waiting months to get their core starting five back together. Right when Darius Garland and Evan Mobley make their return, another key member of their team is dealing with an injury.
As of the NBA’s Sunday night injury report, Jarrett Allen has been listed as questionable with a left ankle sprain for Cleveland’s matchup with the Kings.
Allen’s injury status against the Kings will be a key component of this matchup. The Kings have one of the best big-men in the league with Domantas Sabonis running the paint. If Allen plays he’ll directly match up with Sabonis. If he can’t play, the Cavs will need both Evan Mobley and Dean Wade to step up in Allen’s absence.
JA initially sustained the injury during the Cavaliers’ victory against quarter Memphis Grizzlies. He asked out of the game in the third quarter after apparently rolling his ankle underneath the rim.
Allen never returned to the game but did give it a go against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Cavs were able to walk away with a victory, but Allen was visibly hobbling up and down the floor at times. Still, JA recorded another double-double scoring 26 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
This injury especially stings considering how well Allen has been playing over the last two months.
He set a franchise record with 17 straight games with a double-double which came to an end against the Grizzlies after a rebound was taken away from him after the game.
We’ll have to wait and see whether or not Allen gives it a go against the Kings.
