The Sydney Roosters have officially appointed Alan Katzmann as the Club’s first official Historian.
Mr Katzmann, a Football Club Life Member and Member of the Club’s recently announced Heritage Committee, brings a deep knowledge and understanding of Roosters history, having supported the Club for close to six decades.
Mr Katzmann has played a key role in recent years in the preservation of the Club’s historical data on the Sydney Roosters History website, and will continue to do so alongside his fellow peers on the Heritage Committee.
Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly spoke on the importance of the appointment of a Club Historian.
“Our Heritage Committee is made up of a number of important figures at our Club, and having an official Club Historian will assist in the continual preservation of our history,” Mr Kelly said.
“Understanding the Sydney Roosters’ long-standing history is something that Alan prides himself on. There aren’t many out there who have supported the Club for as long as Alan has, and as a Life Member, he has been witness to some of our most famous moments both on and off the field.
I am honoured to be offered this role and delighted that the Club shares my passion for acknowledging and celebrating the great history of the Roosters.
