Kings Are Making Veteran Guard Available For Trade

2023-24 hasn’t been as kind to the Sacramento Kings as last season was.

The team is currently the seventh seed in the West with a 25-18 record.

They definitely aren’t bad but they aren’t as great as they were last year and that means they could make some changes before the upcoming NBA trade deadline.

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Kings have made Davion Mitchell available for a trade, per NBACentral.

There are quite a few teams across the league looking for a point guard, either in the starting lineup or off the bench, so Mitchell could be quite popular.

The third-year guard is averaging just 3.7 points, 1 rebound, and 1.8 assists per game but he is only playing for a bit over 12 minutes per game.

The Kings are known for guards and shooters so they can part ways with Mitchell and still find success.

Now the question is who or what can they get in return for the 25-year-old guard.

When the season began, the Kings were still riding high after their previous year when they climbed high in the standings and reached the playoffs for the first time in years.

And while they are still one of the most exciting squads in their conference, the Kings haven’t found the same sort of success that they did in 2022-23.

They have been attached to a few possible trades but not as many as other teams.

This suggests that the Kings might make a few minor adjustments and tweaks but probably not too many.

If Mitchell moves to a new team, will he be able to work his way into the starting lineup or remain a promising bench player?
