College football recruiting: LSU, Auburn commits headline Top247 entrants ahead of Early Signing Period
The college football Early Signing Period is almost here, and with the 2023 high school season complete, the highest-profile prospects separated themselves from the pack ahead of Signing Day. In addition to those players who have been staples atop the recruiting rankings throughout their prep careers, others reached new heights during the fall of their senior year and cracked the upper echelon late in the cycle.
Monday’s Top247 update featured a significant amount of movement among four- and five-star prospects and saw nine new players achieve blue-chip status. Kansas State, North Carolina, Florida, Auburn, LSU and Missouri saw one of their commits climb up the rankings following outstanding seasons.
The vast majority of elite recruiting prospects will sign their letters of intent during the December period, and most of that group will put pen to paper Wednesday when the period gets underway. Breakout recruits such as Missouri commit Jaylen Brown and Auburn-bound Malcolm Simmons will now be among the most notable signees should they make things official in the coming days.
