Pascal Siakam Pops up on Raptors Injury Report

The injuries keep piling up for the Toronto Raptors. After a remarkably healthy start to the season, Toronto is suddenly facing the possibility of being without Pascal Siakam on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. He popped up on the injury report as questionable with back spasms, the team announced.

Siakam played 32 minutes Tuesday night scoring 25 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Raptors will already be without Jakob Poeltl who has been ruled out indefinitely with a left ankle sprain. He suffered the injury over the weekend when he stepped awkwardly on Siakam’s foot.

Otto Porter Jr. has also been ruled out with a right knee sprain. He had been listed as doubtful prior to Tuesday’s game but was immediately ruled out for Wednesday.

If Siakam cannot play, expect Toronto to bump Gary Trent Jr. into the starting lineup to play alongside Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Thad Young.

Toronto opted to give Young his first start of the season in place of the injured Poeltl. Toronto has already had its depth tested lately with Chris Boucher and Jontay Porter logging increased playing time. Jalen McDaniels may be forced back into the rotation if Siakam cannot play.

The Clippers, meanwhile, will only be missing Moussa Diabate who is dealing with a fracture in his right hand. The Raptors had been +10.5 point underdogs against the Clippers but the line has been pulled. Toronto’s +355 odds to win conveys a 22% win probability.
