Steelers Add Two Defenders for Seahawks Game
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers found some success with spot starters in safety Eric Rowe and inside linebacker Myles Jack last week in their 34-11 rout of the Cincinnati Bengals and they won’t try to fix what isn’t broken.
With a cross-country trip to Seattle to face the Seahawks on deck for Week 17, the Steelers have called Rowe and Jack back up from the practice squad, the team announced today.
Jack figures to start at inside linebacker with the Steelers decimated by injuries. Even with Elandon Roberts saying he could recover enough from a pectoral injury to play this week, Jack will be an integral part of Pittsburgh’s plans against the Seahawks.
Rowe will be in the conversation to start in Seattle, but with Trenton Thompson trending towards a return from his neck injury and Miles Killebrew recently elevated to first-string on the latest depth chart, he will likely end up as a reserve for this game.
Jack made six total tackles, including a sack, and hit Bengals quarterback Jake Browning twice in last week’s win. Rowe finished second on the team with seven tackles and accounted for one of the three interceptions the Steelers came up with in that game.
