Carolina Panthers and former Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst diagnosed with post traumatic amnesia after November 9 hit vs. Chicago Bears

Hayden Hurst’s father, Jerry, shared that the former Cincinnati Bengals tight end has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist.

Jerry confirmed the news and provided an update via X (formerly Twitter).

‘Slow recovery, don’t know when he’ll be back ,’ Jerry wrote. ‘Prayers appreciated.’

Hurst suffered the injury during Carolina’s 16-13 loss to the Chicago Bears on November 9.

Hurst. 30, is currently listed as questionable with no timeline for his return.

Hurst spent last season in Cincinnati where he quickly became a fan favorite. Before the Bengals, Hurst played his first four years with the Ravens and Falcons.

In his lone season with the Bengals, Hurst collected 52 receptions for 414 yards and two touchdowns.

Hurst signed a three-year, $21million contract to join the Panthers in March and so far has 18 catches for 184 yards this season.

The Panthers have been struggling all season and with a 1-11 record at the bottom of the NFC South.

Carolina has five games remaining, starting with the New Orleans Saints on December 10.
