An update on the future of Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has just been announced live on TalkSPORT.
Forest were beaten 5-0 at Fulham last night and it’s thought that the Reds’ hierarchy have been considering a change.
Before the game against Everton at the weekend, it was claimed that Cooper was under pressure to revive results immediately.
Forest were beaten by the Toffees at the City Ground and then went and got thrashed by the Cottagers last night.
It would appear that Cooper might be about to earn a small reprieve from Evangelos Marinakis and the club’s hierarchy.
TalkSPORT are now claiming that Cooper will get at least one more game to try and revive the team’s fortunes.
Forest play Wolves at Molineux on Saturday and it now looks as though it will be business as usual for the team.
Last night was truly disgraceful and the players let their manager down, a manager who has been loyal to each of them.
The Reds must now regroup and put on a bit of a show against a Wolves team who are playing pretty well.
Cooper deserves a performance from his Forest players and hopefully, a change of fortunes can come on Saturday.
The 43-year-old has been at Forest since September 2021 when the club were at the bottom of the Championship.
He’s lifted the club – and the city of Nottingham – from the doldrums of despair and he deserves better from his players.
Some of the more senior pros need to take a long, hard look at themselves over the next 48 hours and be ready to go on Saturday.
Forest fans will get behind the team at Molineux and hopefully, Cooper can earn himself another stay of execution with a big result.
